Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Our place is bright and spacious with fabulous views, in the heart of Table Mountain National Park, just 500m from the beach on Cape Town’s False Bay coast

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

Wake to the birds chirping away in the indigenous shrubs all around you.

The best of both worlds - nature on your doorstep and the city centre is an easy commute by car or train. Enjoy gorgeous views across the valley and to the ocean. This is not our primary home, so you won't find our mess in your cupboards. The place is spacious, super-clean and totally private.

Just a 500m walk to the soft white sands of Clovelly Beach, walk all the way round the bay to Fish Hoek and watch the whales splashing about in season. Horse-riding, hiking, surfing, whale-watching, shark-diving, fishing, diving and outstanding scenic drives are nearby. The Winelands, Table Mountain, Cape Point, The Waterfront, Robben Island, Cape Town Stadium, Boulders penguins, Chapman’s Peak, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the famous restaurants and bars of trendy Kalk Bay fishing village are a short drive. Clovelly golfcourse is just next door - Simon’s Town, Westlake and Steenberg golfcourses are just 10 minutes drive.

The mountains behind you are part of the Table Mountain National Park - just climb up!

We have hidden the street-view map because it shows the wrong house! I've been trying to get Google to change it for ages. Tips most welcome!

Le mot de la fin

Small babies and children over the age of 6 are most welcome. There is no stair-gate or other equipment that would make the place 'child friendly'.

Two bedrooms are upstairs with twin and king beds, and one is downstairs with a queen bed. There's also a second lounge area downstairs - as well as a guest loo - with a desk, making it an ideal place to do a bit of work if you must.

There is secure parking for two vehicles (with automatic gate) and a simple alarm system. The grounds are enclosed and Clovelly is known locally as a relatively safe neighbourhood.

A little more on the location:
Clovelly sits on the mountainside between Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek, hiding from the summer wind behind a little hill called Trappieskop. A short walk takes you down to the north side of the sheltered bay, popular with hobie-cat sailors and sea-kayaks. The Fish Hoek end is one of the city’s most popular beaches, with families taking advantage of the gently sloping sandy beach and people strolling along the Cat-Walk, a trail built into the rocky edge of the bay. This is one of the best spots for watching the whales in season. Southern Rights come to mate and calve in the warm currents from July to October.

A 20 minute drive along the coast takes you to the Cape Point reserve where you can experience the rugged beauty of the city’s southern tip and get a sense of the diversity of the region’s main vegetation type - the fynbos - which is responsible for a large part of the western cape being declared the world’s 7th floral kingdom. Heading west out of the reserve takes you along one of the country’s most scenic drives, taking in Scarborough and Misty Cliffs, Kommetjie and Noordhoek’s Long Beach and Chapman’s Peak to Hout Bay. The Table Mountain National Park spreads across the peninsula from the city centre to the southernmost tip. The Park gives the city a very special character, providing a playground for caving, abseiling, paragliding and rock-climbing, endless hiking, as well as a perfect venue for picnics.
