PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US UNLESS YOU HAVE A HOUSE/FLAT IN LONDON AND YOU WANT TO DO A SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGE: We we only want to do a simultaneous swap with London only. For London, we are interested in any swap minimum 3 days. Please don't bother contacting us about other locations or GP-swaps. Our home is a luxury penthouse converted in 2013 on the top 2 floors of a classic apartment building (from the year 1904) in the central Berlin district of Friedrichshain . It has a 20 m2 (215 square foot) roof terrace with unrestricted views over the whole of eastern Berlin. Our kitchen is fitted out with everything you need to make your stay as convenient as possible including 2 dishwashers, induction hob and an American-style fridge with ice-machine. Our lounge has two 3-seater sofas seating six very comfortably. The dining table pulls out to seat 8. Each of the three bedrooms is a very large double. The master bedroom has a vast 200cm x 200cm (6’ 6” x 6’ 6”) bed and has its own en-suite bathroom, which has a bath and shower. The upstairs bedroom has a 160cm wide bed (5’ 3”). The children’s bedroom has a 140cm mattress on the floor. (There is a 4th bedroom which is used as an office and is locked). There is also a huge main bathroom with a double-ended bath and a separate shower.

Our part of Friedrichshain is lively neighbourhood with all amenities within easy walking distance:
- Nearest restaurants: Thai, Arabic, Indian - all less than 50m away
- Supermarket - 100m away
- Underground station – 250m away
- 2 big playgounds - both less than 250m away
All major Berlin attractions can be reached with a short journey on public transport. The closest are
- Alexanderplatz (historical centre of East Berlin with attractions including TV tower, cathedral, several large malls) - 5 stops on the underground
- The idyllic “Tierpark” zoo - 5 stops on the underground
Despite being in a lively neighbourhood and in a central location, our home is extraordinarily quiet. The master bedroom gets virtually no exterior noise. Both the other bedrooms are usually extremely quiet though once in a while the distant sounds of late night revellers on the way home may prompt the very sensitive to close the window.
It is also a very safe neighbourhood. Even late at night, there are usually plenty of people around.
(There is a graffiti problem in the area though as in most of Berlin)
