this neighborhood is still ungentrificated. living here is like it used to be in (west)-berlin before the wall came down. my street runs from nollendorfplatz via viktoria-luise-platz to prager platz, it was laid out around 1870. the part where my apartment is, has been considered as the gay centre of berlin since more than 100 years. you find here the famous piscator theatre, the infamous eldorado bar (marlene dietrich loved it), and countless other gay venues, but also the famlous winterfeldt market every saturday, the public transport is close (5 minutes to bahnhof zoo, 10 minutes to potsdamer platz, 20 minutes to alexanderplatz, 40 minutes to prenzlauer berg).
the poet else lasker-schueler lived in my street, rudolf steiner had his office two blocks away, otto dix used patrons of eldoradc as subjects for some of his famous works. christopher isherwood lived just around the corner and wrote his berlin storys, base of the musical and film "cabaret".
