Ce que vos invités vont adorer chez vous
The appartment is very quiet, clean and well-equipped with very modern furniture, right in the middle of Paris in a historical building.
There is fairly large living room (sofa +1 armchair); in the same room is a dining table (extendable with chairs up to 8 people); overlooking the room is an open kitchen, fairly big, well-equipped with everything you need for cooking, plus dishwasher, oven, fridge.
Next to this is a fairly big bedroom with double-bed (fairly new mattress - very comfortable). There is a small desk next to it with an internet connexionand telephone. There are plenty of cupboards (although only one will be cleaned out for visitors' clothes.
Beside this is a very modern bathroom with shower, plus a laundry room so you can wash and dry without putting clothes into the appartment itself.
There is a small area to put luggage above the entry to avoid these making mess all over the appartment!
You have to walk up the stairs from the beautiful paved courtyard (no lift).
The ceilings are high (3 meters) with exposed beams. This helps the appartment seem airy and light.
Ce que vos invités vont adorer dans votre quartier
The appartment is in the Marais in Paris - near Place des Voges - one of the easiest places from which to enjoy the Parisien atmosphere, whether as a tourist or there for something longer, like a language course or working.
You can get to lots of places interesting to tourists by walking (the Marais, Pompidou Center, the Photo Museum, Opera Bastille, the Seine); otherwise, there are (cheap)city bikes that can be rented about 100 meters away.
There are two street markets nearby (one is 2 days a week, another is 6 days a week) for eating lots of reasonably priced and fresh food. There are also supermarkets (including an organic one), wine shops, bakers, cheese stores very close - and a department store. So if you like to cook, the appartment and the places nearby are perfect.
The metro line is at 5 minutes walk. You can get to the airports with only one change of line (about 40 minutes). There are 3 lines, including line 1 which is the one most tourists use the most (direct to the Louvre, Champs Elysées). Plus taxis and buses are easy if you are more adventurous!
I think it is the best place to live in Paris!
Le mot de la fin
I am looking specifically for an exchange in Japan, for 1-2 months this summer - July/August - and preferably in Kyoto or in the Seto Inland Sea area. We will be two people.
We'd prefer to find a traditional-style Japanese appartment or house, convenient to the stations for travelling, and in a nice area to visit monuments, but quiet enought to get into local Japanese lifestyle to improved our Japanese language.
In Paris, I really hope to find someone who is very clean and quiet (respecting the neighbours and my appartment); we are also clean and respectful!
The appartment isnt really suitable for more than 2 people as its very open-plan, and I'd really prefer not to have children (or pets!) visiting.
I have a small business selling design products, and, after years of working hard, I have decided to take 2 months off this summer to spend time in Japan, whcih I love.
