Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
This is a 'longere' in France. Our house contains a two-bedroom gite next to the main house, where we live.
We have a huge garden with many fruit trees. Hope you like pears! You will love sitting watching the birds n the garden - there is virtually no road noise here.
The kitchen is massive with a long dining table, and a range cooker |(gas hob and 2 electric ovens). There is one huge bedroom upstairs, with three other (locked) upstairs rooms that are used as a study and attic storage. There is a double bedroom downstairs and a bed-settee in the lounge. Spare single beds are available too. The downstairs bathroom has a large shower, and the en-suite bathroom upstairs has a deep bath. The drive and the patio area are shingle - like Portsmouth beach!
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
The house in a small hamlet, 15 minute walk from Benest with Post Office, small bread & grocery shop, and a bar/cafe. There is a really good small supermarket/petrol garage in Champagne Mouton, 25 minutes away. 45 minutes away is a larger town, Ruffec, with a large supermarket and an 'out-of-town' shopping centre. There are many good restaurants all around - a list will be left for you. Confolens is 20 minutes away in the other direction, a beautiful small town on the river Vienne. In August there is an international festival of dance here - it's quite spectacular. A list of market days will also be left for you.
We have a great small zoo about ten minutes up the road. You will need half a day to walk round it. it has a good variety of animals, plus lots of climbing frames for the children, and it is quiet - no crowds here!
About 45 minutes away is 'Le Vallee Des Singes' which is a park like Monkeyworld, but it is always much quieter and you can really see everything - they have a great variety of monkeys and apes. We also have a great bird park near Chauvigny, about an hour away. There are numerous Chareaux all around the area, some of which you can go inside.
1.5 hours away is Futurescope - do take a look at the website. And Puy Du Fou is about 3 hours away. Worth a stop-ever on your way here or back - its very much like an american theme park, medieval style. It's really impressive.
