Situated in the charming hamlet of Les Tines, mid way between Chamonix and Argentiere the house is laid out over three floors. On the top two floors there are six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Two of the bathrooms are ensuite shower rooms with toilets and basin and the other two are much larger with one having a big bath and the other a wet room with a double shower. Two of the top floor bedrooms have mezzanines and open ceilings perfect for a play/TV area or reading nook. The ground floor is an open plan living/eating/kitchen area with a separate laundry room, cloakroom and toilet. The chalet was constructed 1911 to be used as a “Chambres d’Hotes” and horse watering station for the travellers on the mountain pass into Switzerland. It then passed through many local families and was split into two apartments when we acquired it in 2007.

In between Chamonix and Argentiere, Les Tines is perfectly situated in the middle of the main ski areas and next to the golf course. The proposed new site for the new Flegere ski lift is just a couple of hundred meters from the chalet which will effectively make the chalet ski in/ski out when it is completed. It is relatively close to the main Chamonix-Argentiere road which is always priority snow cleared so you will never be snowed in. The main motorway from Geneva to Chamonix is also always cleared so no access problems from the airport.

Lying inbetween Chamonix center and Argentiere It is bang in the center of the 5 main ski areas. It gets sunshine all year long and is close to the "Route Nationale" going to Switzerland so is snow cleared as a priority so you will not be house bound in bad Winter weather. It is presently undergoing something of a transformation with a lot of properties changing hands, new chalets being built and older ones being renovated. This summer saw the opening of a new 4 star Hotel and Spa complex “The Hotel Excelsior” just down the road from the chalet.

From the front door of the chalet you can be walking in the forest in less than a minute and the stunning Trent Jones golf course is also nearby.

Chamonix is unquestionably the adventure sports capital of the world. Its got it all skiing, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, etc. The popular image of Chamonix as a ski resort is not quite true. It is really a year round mini city with all the activities plus great bars and restaurants, good shopping, excellent schools, and vibrant cultural events. Whilst there are peak periods the town really does function year round and it is this that really sets it apart from other ski resorts/mountain towns.

The location and access of Chamonix is also unrivalled. Situated at the corner where France meets Italy and Switzerland it is possible to ski 3 countries in one day if you are motivated do so. In summer drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel and you can be on the beach in the Italian Riviera in just over 3 hours!!! There is a motorway from Chamonix direct to Geneva Airport and beyond ensuring easy access all year. Many people work in Geneva and commute to Chamonix every day including my wife!
