A bientôt donc ?
Thoughtfully remodeled and renovated by myself. So it has all best custom features with a very agreeable artful friendly standard with king beds and rooms with floor and stairs recently coated.
The house is marvelously sunny exposed and it is well known to be a jewel in the village. Surrounded by 5 hectares of grassland, my property includes 2 hectares of chestnut and oak forest not far.
The farm was purchased by Grand Father back in 1892. He was producing chestnut wood forks and rakes, to be welcome a large family of 5 girls plus Dad. Then Daddy created a new functional cattle barn, He improved the workshop, built a two cars garage and many barns. He was manufacturing ash-tree wood tail scythes, plowing with some oxen and then with the mules. Dad was a talented pioneer farmer, a cattle breeder advised, a winemaker of refined taste and a sharp joiner. He was the first to the village to buy a milking machine and an agricultural tractor, a car to the family, then a scooter to my eldest sister. Each thing accomplished by grandfather, dad and my older brother, who cultivated the cult of absolute perfection were unanimously accepted by those around them as totally blameless. I'd be lying if I said that their life was not fraught with pitfalls, punctuated by bitter and spectacular failures. The magnetic force that moves the pioneer naturally attracts the adventurer in uncertain regions. Among the rocks in balance or hide venomous critters. Concealing precipices, killer waves, hiding mines, sometimes lightning. Health is threatened with the risk of losing a limb, sometimes his teeth. Her wrinkles and complexion of his face then become those of a Charles Bronson, while his features were those of a dandy, a prince of lounge type Alain Delon! Grandmother who was first dressmaker specialized in the manufacture of solid and thick blankets hand sewn wool sheep, and it is in these cozy and colorful ornaments insulation you have the luxury of sleep. Mom raised us five children, in Grandfather permanent contact with moral and religious authority were strict, unwavering and coveted by the neighborhood. So, we were 5 brothers and sisters to be born in this habitable house the respectable dimensions of 40 x 20 meters.
Finally, during my very last years of teaching, I attended our mother, living in our house. I took twice as active, the legendary farm that we had been born. I did the roof repair, I built a large kennel for 75 hounds and shooting dogs, boxes for horses, and I remodeled home: kitchen, bathroom, cellar, with central heating feeding nine radiators, arranged in seven rooms.
"Qua patres difficillime adepti sunt nolite turpiter relinquere "
"What your fathers were raised with penalty, keep the neglected". Suddenly, as if struck on the edge of a wood, by the will of fate, I stopped my hunting activity, and I have no more animals at all at home, no horses, and no dogs. Just half a dozen” Prim’ Holstein” heifers who belongs to young neighbors. They are roaming in my meadow, especially in summer. But you do not have to worry about them.
You can use entirely my house. Plus a central apartment of the home including an old kitchenette (without water), library, harness-room and deer gallery, but this part is not heated.
Food shopping is easily able to Roybon village (4 km), with market each Monday morning. We can go shopping at Le Grand Serre (7 km), Viriville (10 km). Supermarkets are in Hauterives (13 km), with an interesting farmer market on Tuesday morning; or Saint Siméon de Bressieux (13 km). Downtown: Beaurepaire or La Côte Saint André (20 km), Saint Etienne de Saint Geoirs (near Grenoble Airport) (25 km), the best: Saint Marcellin or Romans (30 km each). The must Vienne, Valence (50 km each), Grenoble city (68 km) or Lyon (78 km).
Montfalcon village is situated in the Isère department, in the Rhône-Alps region, in the South East of France. My house is quiet, however, is located in an active region of France. The Rhône-Alps region is now considered the third pole of activity after the Parisian region and the Lyon region. Montfalcon site is very old. The emblem is the kestrel; some of these birds of prey are still living in the ruin of the Feudal Castle dating from the XII Century, situated on top of the hill as a general survey of my home. Chambarands country is a vast plateau, wooded in places. There are many hiking trails. Several tens of them are in a collection you will find the tourist office at Roybon (5 km). Apart from these numerous possibilities, all dirt roads and farm forestry are open to visitors; the river banks are equally accessible to all.
Montfalcon is seating in central good micro climate, near the renowned Côtes du Rhône vineyards.
We are pretty lucky to be sparing with hurricanes, cyclones, floods, droughts, earthquakes or volcanoes.
Curiously, the weather is quite different it was 40 or 50 years before where we had big snow and ice.
The months of September and October are usually very sunny. There is a late season sometimes called Indian summer.
November and December can fully extend the dry weather with sumptuous multicolored landscapes. Christmas time is increasingly mild and without snow, sometimes curiously sunny.
The month of January can bring any rainy mornings, or a few centimeters of snow, sometimes a simple pepper, frequently nothing.
But on High Mountain the first snow may occur as early as mid November on the summits of the Alps. They often continue until Easter.
It rarely saves more than two consecutive days of rain. No one goes, however, not winter without ten days of bad weather. During the winter the nights are cool and sometimes cold. Temperatures rise dramatically at the onset of the sun.
As early as February, migratory birds are singing and are harbingers of spring, the buds are bursting at the seams, the animals find areas, and farmers are agitated, with sleet and sometimes a final burst of cold.
March is the opening of trout fishing, with its parade of fishermen from several neighboring departments who compete. The Galaure is a beautiful greenish and rich river, just 400 meters in front of my house, in the first category considered.
This is the flowering season and a happy new births and outbreaks beginning sound. You know that the weather can be changeable; layered clothing is recommended.
The Chambarands wooded massif is home to a varied flora of high quality, and a precious avifauna. You will enjoy all outdoor activities in the country.
On the other hand you have a wide variety of great quality of autumn fruits, wild mushrooms, sorbs, loquats, berries, chestnuts and blackberries. You can freely gather anywhere a basket of mushrooms per person each day in the woods and in the meadows. Nuts (and apples) of pure biological quality you can find in my cellar, are from my property. They are all intended for your personal use.
The Dauphiné region (Isère and Drôme departments) is renowned for its ancient cultural heritage. It is renowned for bringing a large number of prestigious castles in which the best welcome is for you especially as foreigners have historically received special attention towards them.
La Côte Saint-André town at 20 min, birthplace Hector Berlioz, is also in this charming city that my Grandfather was born.
Montfalcon is located in the heart of many tourist sites cultural architectural, museums, roman ruins, churches, folklore, concerts, cinemas, theatres, discos, nightclubs, cellars, circuses, libraries, varied sports complexes, hospitals and clinics.
The Dauphiné is also known as picturesque privileged beautiful caves that were the site of tragic events unfortunately, especially during wars. It was particularly during the Resistance, as places to live.
The Chambarands are at the heart of a region producing an internationally famous cheese called "le Saint Marcellin", locally "la tome".
Roybon village is 5 min, where we can find main shops, farmer market each Monday morning, otherwise super markets are 15 min. Grenoble airport [GNB] is 20 min away, Lyon international airport [LYS] is 1 hour 20, 3 different highways access are within 25 min. Grenoble City 1 hour, Lyon City 1 h 15. Geneva, 2 h10, Mediterranean beaches 3 h. Paris by fast train is only 2h10 from Valence TGV station 45 min from home. You book cheap Internet a secure parking space at Valence TGV station.
Vercors ski slopes are 1 hour away, and the inexhaustible ski resorts of the Alps is 1 h 45 roads.
Then I have very kind neighbours and I live alone in complete security. To the East is a very kind lady (100 meters), she lives with her mother, who is lame. She can come sometimes if you want to do the household work. She knows very well how to do. Her boy friend speaks English a little bit. To the South is a cereal farmer. He likes speaking. He lives with his girl friend. Montfalcon village is 1 km South West of my property. Then, my older sister who lives 25 km away, their English speaking daughters and an English lady would be so happy to know you.

The nearest station is that of Rencurel to 29 km.
Vineyards and wines of the Côtes du Rhône:
I am single, just retired, in a good health. I do not smoke and absolutely consume no drug. I have no more pets at home (and no plants). Only meadows, also occupied by half a dozen of Prim’Holstein young cows in their first gestation, belonging to two young neighbors, and only in summer, then you will not have to worry. My forest of chestnut and oak is one km as the crow flies. I hope you have someone to take care of your garden, because I am trained mechanic and I hate to spend time gardening tasks.
My being single, has allowed me to pursue this profound taste for travel. Eventually going teach at several French speaking institutions renowned Agricultural regions. I taught in the heart of agricultural or horticultural highest international machinery specifications. Then, in North Africa, the next level, engineering students of an Agricultural Technology Institute. And finally, in Ivory Coast, as cooperating seconded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as responsible for the formation. So I was able to visit or work on farms during periods of probation of one to two months, twice a year in 23 different countries in the world during my training. To this day, I have made twelve home and car exchanges on four different continents.
At last, I am one of the few French international judges official Société Centrale Canine (Paris) for testing all types of working hounds. They are pointing dogs or hounds. More hounds of Eastern Europe. Former “ Lieutenant de Louveterie”, Pointer expert, and red deer local specialist, I also like ornithology and non professional photography. I love wild animals. However, as I practice prolonged observation of large ungulates, red deer or moose, occasionally antelopes and elk. I have to meet this specific hygiene measures. As clothing free of odor impregnation dogs. Therefore I would not have custody of yours. Success depends on the conditions of successful completion of my stay in your country, and partly thanks to your kind cooperation. In advance thank you.
I have driving licenses for trucks and transport. Lately I've really enjoyed studying piloting single engine aircraft. Please feel free to ask any questions on anything I may have missed mentioning.
Dear friends, I take this opportunity to ask you a favor. Can you tell me if the red deer (cervus elaphus), live freely in the wild near your place of residence? Are they sufficient to allow photographing? This valuable information would allow me to develop my schedule during a future visit to your country. If you have one of your relationships, a ranger, a farmer, a forester, a hunter, a taxidermist, a gunsmith, a zoo director, photographer, or a hiker, this person will tell you the exact places where deer come to foraging at dusk overnight. Thank you very much for your kind help. I would get a home exchange in the following areas. In the British Isles: anywhere near National Parks, including Richmond Park and Bushy Park.In France: Pyrénées, Landes, Gironde, Cévennes, Auvergne, Bretagne, Normandie, Vosges du Nord, Ardennes, Picardie, Champagne, Sologne, Brenne, Centre, Bourgogne, Alpes de Haute Provence, Hautes Alpes, Corse (près de Quenza et de Chizà), Drôme and the both Savoies, etc.
Due to extensive travel, weather and the time needed to acquire my observation sites, I'm sorry to consider only offers at least two or three weeks: 3 to 5 weeks, 1 month would be great.
