Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

The house is located in Nemi, a very (very!) pretty little town just 40Kms from the busy Rome, so you will be immerse in beauty and nature, with great scenery, overlooking a lake surrounded by woodlands full of magic and history, but STILL be able to access everything Rome has to offer. The home itself is very pictoresque, you will love the huge terrace over the lake, the garden with access to the woods, the high ceilings with arches exposing the original stonework, the open spaces (kitchen, lounge, studio, terrace), the fireplace in the winter, the tranquillity - a place to relax, dream, restore your mind, focus, writing, re-center, be inspired.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

Nemi is part of the Castelli Romani area, an ancient vulcan at the outskirts of Rome. It was the original centre of the Latin culture, Nemi itself was an important spiritual centre having the famous Diana temple, goddess of hunting. The book "The Golden Bough" by James Frazer was inspired by the legends surrounding Nemi and the cult of Diana. The book/movie "Never Ending Story" by Michel Ende was written not too far, and from the house you have a clear view of the hill that inspired the carachter Morla, the wise giant turtle. It is an ancient place, full of legends and it does has a special energy to it. In more practical terms, you will experience peace and be surrounded by beauty, it feels like being immersed in to a renassaince oil painting. The town centre is only 5 mins walk from the house, it has many shops with local products, farmers markets, plenty of restaurants, caffes (don't forget to taste the strawberry cakes!). From the town you can go hiking to the woodlands, there are many paths, especially the Via Francicena. Mountain biking is very popular. And when you get tired of peace and nature you can drive to Rome (or take a bus from the nearby town Genzano) and enjoy all the eternal city has to offer. It takes 20 minutes drive to get to the ringroad, then depending on where exactly you want to go in Rome it will total between 30 minutes to an hour.
